ABOUT THE ADDO RAPTOR & REPTILE CENTRE
The Addo Raptor and Reptile Centre is NOT A ZOO, the centre is a Rehabilitation and Education Centre, where the needs of the animals under our care is always our
veterinary help. Another key component of our work is Education. Educating authorities, the public, parents, retailers, and most importantly the young.
OUR TEAM
The facility is headed by Darren, who has over twenty years of experience in safe handling of reptiles and the beautiful birds of prey.
OUR GOALS
As man encroaches on the natural habitat of our wildlife The Recovery, Rehabilitation and Release Service is crucial to the survival of these largely misunderstood creatures. The Addo Raptor and Reptile Centre team strive to educate all visitors to our facility and create a better understanding and awareness of our raptors and reptiles.
OUR ANIMALS
Some of our animals were rescued from the pet trade or were permanently injured in the wild, while others were sourced from reputable reptile breeders.
OUR MISSION
The centre does not condone, agree with or encourage the keeping of wild animals as pets. The animals under our care are serving the vitally important role of CONSERVATION THROUGH EDUCATION. The biggest threat to our wildlife is... an uneducated human.
