The Addo Raptor and Reptile Centre service includes a Volunteer Program, where you will receive training on the caring for and handling of Reptiles and Birds of Prey. This program will suit anyone who is interested in Raptors and Reptiles. The program includes:
• Educational talks with local farmers and residents. (Free service for residents to the Greater Addo Area)
• Rescuing of Raptors and Reptiles (Instruction and tuition on safe capture, transport and handling methods)
• Basic Raptor & Reptile injury care
• Rehabilitation of Birds Of Prey (Instruction and tuition regarding 'How to care for and train a Raptor in preparation for release')
• Centre Management (Cleaning, Feeding, Maintenance and General Health)
• Animal Care and Handling (Instruction and tuition regarding safe handling of dangerous reptiles - No Free handling by volunteers)
Volunteers receive free time to visit the local attractions:
• Addo Elephant Park
• Shamwari
Accommodation, Meals and Transport in and around the Addo - Port Elizabeth area is included.
Minimum Volunteer period - 2 weeks
Maximum Volunteer period - Unlimited
